A long year has passed when you shrunk deep in our hearts – a permanent place for you to live in.
During
your lifetime, you have done a great service to the Indian Working
Class. But, for few of us you were a teacher – a kind, warm, caring,
patient teacher. Crux of your teaching was how to behave. How to behave
as an individual, a comrade, an activist, and most of all a human being. How an organization
should behave with their staff, with society in general and
particularly with the people for whom they claim to work for.

In many Asian countries even Trade Unions have been ignoring these deaths. Workers, in many cases either do not know the hazards of the materials they are exposed to and those who now are afraid of losing jobs. Large numbers of workers are outside coverage of social security schemes, labor laws are seldom implemented and now in the name of liberalization the Courts, too are taking U turn. In such situation no worker can think of taking risk.
