bumese-workersj.jpgSeafarers Union of Burma (S.U.B) as an affiliate of the International Transport Workers Federation would like to express our outrage and condolences on the distressing news of massive casualties; the victims of human trafficking – 54 Burmese workers dead and other 67 Burmese workers victimized.
We as a workers union cannot accept the exploitation and waste of innocent working lives. We can only point out the two major responsible parties concerned – The Royal Thailand Government and the military junta SPDC. They are doing almost nothing to ensure the safe migration of workers and protection of their basic rights.

We as a trade union believe that corrupt officials in both countries as well as trafficking gangs are the chief obstacles to good practices of employment opportunities for workers and model management of safe migration enhanced by the ILO and global Trade Unions.
We the Seafarers Union of Burma  would like to urge the International Trade Union Movement to pay very serious attention to the deaths of the Burmese workers and the well being and fat of those surviving. We know of unbridled victimization enabled by the systematic employment practices of unscrupulous employers as well as their thugs – human trafficking gangs.
We the S.U.B ask you to help us fight for workers rights and to protest in the loudest and most forceful manner to the Royal Thai Government and their cronies in the SPDC.!
We S.U.B are looking forward to the dawn of fair and just working environment for Burmese Workers!
